Make your next event a lil’ special – host it at Congress!

Our intimate 30-40 person venue is ideal for private events, including meetings, performances, film screenings, video or board game parties or mix & mingle industry nights.

Our special features include an eclectic, funky vibe, a state-of-the-art analog sound system, a fully equipped performance stage, and the option to have a full-service espresso/sandwich bar or to bring your own outside food and drink (including alcohol, providing the appropriate liquor license has been obtained).

About Congress Coffee

Congress is an independent coffee house and performance venue in an unassuming industrial park surrounded by the communities of Tuxedo Park and Highland Park.

With quick access from Centre Street North and Edmonton Trail, Congress has ample after-hours free street and lot parking, making it easy for your guests. The building is semi-accessible.

There are two small steps to the front door, though we do have a portable ramp that can be made available for wheelchair users. We have two gender neutral bathrooms (not built to wheelchair accessible standards).

Inside our cozy space you’ll find an eclectic array of art and design, evoking the vintage feel of a 1990s coffee house.

The Venue

Congress is a return to the 90s with a space that is ecclectic, comfortable and full of conversation starters. Our mix & match decor is vintage and/or thrifted, and every item has a story to tell.

Our espresso bar serves deep, rich dark roasted espresso and house-made specialty coffees. We keep our focus on flavour, not frippery. You won’t get a heart drawn on your latte, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love you!

Our back-to-the-basics approach means everyone feels welcome at Congress.

The Stage

Congress’ performance space has been developed by our in-house acoustician to provide top-notch room sound. With a fully analog set-up, we can host DJs and musicians of any genre, assuring that you will sound incredible. Our stage is 14’ long and 10-12’ deep (depending on use of the curtain).

THE BASICS
For groups of 8 or more

Have your AGM, strategic planning session or table-top gaming party with our basic rental package. Accommodates 30 people with table seating or 40 with theatre-style seating.

$60/hour
$45/hour nonprofit

Add basic A/V (microphone, screen, projector) +$15/hr

Add basic coffee service (drip coffee/hot tea) starting at $25/8 cups.

Add a personalized espresso bar experience with our barista providing a full service cafe menu. Choose cash or open bar for your guests. (minimum purchase $10/pp).

THE SHOW
Up to 40 attendees

All show event packages include a dedicated in-house sound tech, access to our full array of microphones and inputs, a screen and projector, and stage lighting.

$80/hour nonprofit

Congress Coffee does not rent our space to individuals or organizations for events that are hurtful, degrading, damaging or excluding of others based on ethnic, racial, sexual or gender identity. Any individual or organization who knowingly books Congress Coffee for any of the purposes above will have their rental contract canceled and will forefeit any deposits or additional reimbursement of expenses occured therein.
